Early miniature map of Florida. The map was published by Alain Manesson Mallet in his famous work Description de l’ Univers, first published in Paris in 1683.
The map of Florida has been cut out of another print, and pasted onto the page, probably at the time of publication, due to the wrong plate being used. Originally the page was printed with the map of Virginia, which therefore is beneath the map of Florida, and which can be seen through the map.
